LADIES NIGHT 2017
Thanks to everyone who came out and stopped by to see us last night! Such a great turnout at Ladies Night Out! 💃🏼🛍
"Ladies Night Out was a great time! This was our first time out in our community and we weren't too sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. There was such a huge turnout and we were in great company with tons of other vendors. Maryann took the spotlight on the Leominster Mayor's show on Leominster Access television talking about the Hillary A. (Bartlett) Newsome Foundation and she did great! They were broadcasting right in the middle of the hustle and bustle on Main Street. We also received positive feedback from the Mayor. We met so many great people and had some great conversations! With our first event out in the community under our belts now, we are so looking forward to our upcoming events: Las Vegas in Leominster on October 14th, and the Camp Sunshine Polar Plunge on March 10th, 2018."
Polar Plunge Match
"A few months ago, Bartlett Landscaping graciously offered to match all polar plunge donations dollar for dollar thru Hillary's birthday on 8/23. The final amount raised thru 8/23 was $3,355! Last night, Bartlett Landscaping LLC presented the HABNF with a check for $3,355. So, to date, we've raised $6,710. This means that we have sponsored two full families and are about $790 shy of sponsoring a third family at Camp Sunshine!!! This is incredible! Keep up the great work, plungers! 172 days left until the plunge!"
Casino Night in Leominster
"Wow! What an amazing night had by all!! Las Vegas in Leominster was a success!!! Thank you beyond words to everyone who came out to Las Vegas in Leominster, to everyone who donated one of the 57 incredible raffle baskets, to Kristi and Pete who donated and served all of the food all night, to our amazing sponsors, to our group of volunteers, and especially to this wonderful group of people who have worked tirelessly to continue Hillary’s legacy and everyone else who had a hand in making casino night an incredible time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!"

Hillary's Chucks Kidz Day!
Hillary's Chucks Kidz Day 2018 was held at the Leominster City Hall (Tata Auditorium) on Saturday, April 14th, 2018! This event was a success! Over 150 children and their families from different communities came out! Kids enjoyed games – Ring Toss and bean bags and more, with prizes! Kids also enjoyed craft making – butterflies made from coffee filters sponsored by Messiah Lutheran, rock painting (inspired by the Kindness Rock Project), make your own Mr. Potato Head felt board, sun catchers made from cd’s and gems and the big hit – calming bottles! Kids could make their own bottles that consisted of water and hair gel and an assortment of items to put in the mixture – beads, pom poms and glitter (oh my!). Once they were done an adult helped to seal the bottles and the kids could shake them as much and as hard as they wanted. Watching the items float and slowly move around created a calming effect! The light tables were an amazing addition and created quite an interest to see what all things looked like through a light, including x-ray images of bugs! Yuck!
Parents were able to connect with local resources such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Early Childhood Intervention, Head Start and Messiah Lutheran Preschool. In addition to these resources, Kidz Day featured Joanne and her dog Zoe, a service dog who was trained through NEADS. NEADS is formerly known as the National Education for Assistance Dog Services and Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans. Zoe was a beautiful, obedient black lab who is just a sweetheart. Everyone loved her!
An important part of the day was when Mayor Mazzarella officially declared April 14th as 'Hillary A. (Bartlett) Newsome Day'! Hillary continues to share her love of children thru us and we remain inspired by her compassion for others! Check out some pictures from Kidz Day!

Autism Resource Central 5k Run & Walk for Autism Acceptance 04/28/2018
Hillary's Chucks represented in full force at yet another event near and dear to Hillary's heart, the HMEA Walk for Autism! And what a beautiful day for a walk it was! The sun was shining, the sky was blue, the birds were chirping and there were lots of smiling faces!
The runners and walkers started together at 10am. The walk/run was a 5k – 3.2 miles in the city of Worcester, MA right next to Lake Quinsigamond. Runners, walkers and volunteers alike cheered each other on! The walk took approximately an hour but went by fast with so many people to talk to along the way, many sharing their stories of why they were walking – for children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, friends, and more!
This event is one that you can look forward to every year! Check out a few of the pics!
Summer Stroll, Leominster MA 06/09/2018
Hillary's Chucks served up some ice cold lemonade and lemonade slushees this weekend at Leominster's Summer Stroll! The weather was perfect for this event, complete with a parade thru downtown, and vendors lining the streets. The turnout was great! We love to represent our home base community, but would love to reach your community as well! Do you know of any events in your area this summer? Would you like to see Hillary's Chucks closer to you? Reach out and let us know! habnfinc@gmail.com
The Following is a few kind words from Katie Smith. A very close friend of Hillary, as well as the Bartlett Family.
Hillary was hands down one of the most admirable, loving, selfless person that I have ever had the opportunity of knowing. Whether you knew her or not, her smile would light up a room. Hillary was the true definition of a friend and anyone who knew her would agree! Hillary and I were introduced in 2009 and our friendship was instant. I became a new mom and soon after, had a deployed husband. Tyjuan of course was deployed with him. So on the weekends, Hillary was always there when I needed her. She would come spend the weekends with me so we could pass the time together. We enjoyed our weekend slumber parties! Hillary, baby Caden, and I flew out to California for a week to spend with the guys before they left the country for deployment. I’ll never forget that plane ride when we were both sobbing messes after saying our “see ya laters” to the guys. We were a mess walking through that airport and every July thereafter we would remind each other of that memory. We thought we would never get through it but yet, here we were! We braved a hurricane together during that deployment, many nights of tears and quite a few with laughter (lots of wine and dress blues 😉). No matter what, there was always something to laugh or smile about when Hillary was around! We were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to go to Lejeune together. She encouraged me to broaden my horizon and play kickball and softball and it was so much fun! I regret not doing it sooner. I got the opportunity to meet more amazing people I wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for her. I’ll forever cherish the nights and get togethers we would have with the group of us from Fort Devens. There was never a dull moment when we were all together. Hillary helped me and my family out so much and she would never bat an eye if anyone ever needed help. The kids loved when “Aunt Hilwawe” would come over! I’ll forever be grateful for her and our friendship. Losing Hillary was one of the hardest things that I have ever been through. The day we lost her, a part of us went with her. The world lost such a beautiful, bright, loving, and caring person and there will never be another like Hillary. I will forever cherish our friendship and our time together. Heaven gained such an amazing angel and I know she’s up there watching over everyone <3
